Dance for Survivors

Our restorative dance workshops are tailor-made to provide a creative way of supporting survivors of human traffcking and modern slavery.

“The de-stess effect is unbelievable. Personally I found it is working so brilliantly. The fresh faces of the staff. I feel energized.” - Survivor

These workshops include fun movement exercises and creative activities and are led by trauma-informed professional dancers. The sessions aim to develop confidence, self-esteem and physical fitness to support survivors’ overall wellbeing. As the impact of trauma is often held in the body, we use therapeutic movement to help to promote healing, enabling individuals to feel a sense of empowerment and ownership within their own bodies. The workshops also provide a chance for survivors to express themselves and to connect with others socially.

We deliver these workshops in partnership with other support organisations in a range of settings. These include community projects, drop-ins and safe houses.

“It really helps me to heal”- Survivor

Who can attend?

The workshops are for survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery, catered to the needs of each particular group. This means we can work with individuals of any age, gender, ethnicity or physical ability. No prior movement experience is necessary.

Where do we work?

Our team currently work in London, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire & Bristol. We also travel to other areas in the UK to respond to workshop requests where possible.
